T'that the man of God may be perfect, throughly furnished unto every good works', which happens to be the centre-focus of the Christian walk: (emphasis mine). The complete possession of this fruit places the believer in a height of spiritual maturity ripe for intimate relationship with God and rapture. It is at this point a person can truly be called a saint because of the truth that is available to him/her and in addition, his/her name is written in heaven. Also, the display of this fruit is the criterion for distinguishing between the spiritual and carnal Christian. Remember that none of these fruit can be produce by a natural man, education does not bring it, it is solely the work of the Holy Spirit to make you a kingdom focused believer.
And never can the Holy Spirit produce these Holy virtues in a natural or carnal man who hasn't yielded his will and ways to the Lord. This fruit is the glorious outward manifestation of an inward surrendering and consecration of an inward life to the Holy Spirit and kingdom principles. On the other hand, those who do not possess the fruit that proves evidence of the Holy Spirit's manifestation and leading yet claim to be sons and daughters of God are just deceiving themselves.
As far as I know, as many as are led by the spirit are the sons of God, still remain valid up to this day. And remains as the only yardstick for knowing the sons and daughters of God. This is why Jesus admonishes us not to be carried away by words but to check the fruit, “for by their fruit you shall know them”.
Therefore do not be deceived, every claims on spiritual maturity should not be taken at face value but should be tested by the fruit of the Holy Spirit at display in a believer’s conduct. The believer must have valid testimonies of trials and pain overcame through the power of the Holy Spirit. The spiritual aroma of love, joy, peace, long suffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, meekness, and temperance must so fill the air for Christians and unbelievers.
This is how true believers are known. In a nutshell, these qualities were the characters of Jesus, when he walked upon the earth which He intends to replicate in you through the leading of the Holy Spirit. This is why it is called 'fruit of the spirit' only the Holy Spirit can make it a practical manifestation in your daily life. If you ever want to attain perfection, if you ever crave for spiritual maturity, if you ever long for an intimate fellowship with the Holy Spirit, if you ever want to get to heaven; then endeavour to yield yourselves to the Holy Spirit so that “in all thy getting”, you might get the 'NINE FRUIT OF THE HOLY SPIRIT
